Through engaging displays and research-driven storytelling\, visitors will gain insight into the region’s complex social\, political\, and economic landscape during a transformative period in history. \nWar &a Peace on the Rio Grande\, 1861–1867 highlights the profound impact of the Civil War on cross-border commerce and trade\, shifting political relations between the United States and Mexico\, and the critical roles played by soldiers of color stationed in the region. The exhibit also offers vivid glimpses into daily camp life\, providing a human perspective on the soldiers who lived and served along the Rio Grande.
